Situated in the middle of the village in Langebaan, and at about 150 m from the main beach you will find Windtown Lagoon Resort and Spa.
The design of the Windtown resort is trendy, with much wood and natural stones. Around the swimming pool you’re invited to relax and lounge in the sun or in the shade.
In addition to accommodation, Windtown has a restaurant and bar, a watersports school, a spa, conferencing/event facilities and shop for kitesurfing and windsurfing goods and sup.

Watersports
Windtown is developed out of a passion for watersports. The owners started in 2001 with a watersports center in the Netherlands. The dream was to be one of the best watersports locations in the world. In 2006 the Windtown Beach Resort and Spa opened in Cumbuco, Brazil as the coolest place to stay, sport and relax in this tropical country. After extensive research the next perfect spot was discovered, being Langebaan in South Africa.
With over 10 years of experience Windtown guarantees to offer the best in instructions, rentals and sales in kitesurfing, windsurfing and sup equipment.
The resort has its center and shop right in front, offering all the latest equipment on the market.
When you bring your own equipment, this can be stored in the large and secure watersports storage beneath.
The Langebaan lagoon is one of the biggest lagoons in the world, with bright blue waters and a large waist deep section, ideal for learning the basics of all watersports. The wind is very reliable as it is channeled between the hills around, picking up mostly at the end of the morning. Some parts have perfectly flat water, ideal for a sup session in the morning to deserted white beaches. Windsurfers and kitesurfers have the choice between flat, bumpy and wavy waters, all in very close proximity to Windtown. A 3 mm wetsuit or shorty is recommended.

Spa
Members of our spa team are internationally qualified and have a broad experience in traditional and advanced spa therapies. In addition to our large sauna, we have several areas for massages and body treatments.

Restaurant and bar
The Windtown in house restaurant, called ‘Breeze’ combines healthy and natural cuisine with local delicacies. The restaurant distinguishes itself with dishes like springbok, ostrich and lobster. But you’re also very welcome for a quick bite like a hamburger.
South Africa is well known for its high quality wines and the ‘Breeze’ wine list offers you a special selection to accompany your meal. A nice example is our Reynecke wines, which are renowned for their special delicate flavor as well as their biological production process. For beer drinkers we offer a very special range of beers from a local micro-Brewery in Darling.
To make everything complete, Windtown offers a communal ‘braai’ (barbecue) once a week.

MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Events)
Windtown includes a special event company that can arrange anything from business meetings, product presentations, team building, to weddings, theme dinners, etc.
The meeting room is located between the restaurant and the spa, and accommodates up to 40 people for product presentations. For weddings or parties, the total capacity can be extended to up to 250 people using also (parts of) the restaurant and outside lounge areas. The meeting room is equipped with the latest technology, such as sound system and beamer.

Other things to do
Almost year round sunshine, safe waters and reliable winds make Langebaan a paradise for watersports lovers – particularly kitesurfers, windsurfers, kayakers, yachtsmen, waterskiers and fishermen. The tidal sand flats of the lagoon also attract thousands of migratory birds every year, and resident species are prolific and include greater and lesser flamingoes. The world’s largest breeding colony of black harriers also occurs in the area. Langebaan is an internationally acclaimed Ramsar Site for its importance as a wetland.
This picturesque, modern town borders onto the scenic West Coast National Park, which may not have the Big Five but does have the Slow Five: tortoises, whales, sand sharks, porcupines and dune moles. Eland, wildebeest, hartebeest, bontebok, springbok, kudu and mountain zebra can also be seen mostly in the Postberg section of the park. During spring, Langebaan shows off its rainbow colored spring flower carpets, often with wildlife grazing amongst them. Game viewing in the West Coast National Park on bicycle is a popular activity too. The oldest known footprint of a modern human – Eve’s Footprint – was also discovered in the park on the banks of the Langebaan Lagoon in 1995. The fossil footprint is dated at about 117 000 years old.
Called the ‘jewel of the West Coast’, Langebaan is an easy hour’s drive from Cape Town and the bustling town has attractions for the whole family. The natural attractions lure outdoor lovers in droves, while unique beach restaurants, abundant seafood and shopping for curios, crafts or clothing entice others. Adults can also be entertained at the casino at Club Mykonos, while there is lots on offer for children. There is golf at the Country Club and horse riding on the beach also on offer.
Close to the town, at Langebaanweg, is the West Coast Fossil Park – the only fossil park in South Africa. It’s home to the ancient Big Five that once roamed this area. The remains of Africa’s only bear have also been discovered here, along with the fossils of 200 other species. Visitors can enjoy an informative tour of a fossil dig and hunt for their own fossils, and there is biking, hiking and horse riding through the park.
Relaxed or adrenaline fueled, all extremes of entertainment and activity – or not - are easily found in Langebaan, where nature lives in harmony with modern life.
